*Rapid Fire with Melissa Smith of Rappahannock Oyster Bar*

#VaSpirits: Where were you born?

Melissa: I was born in Greensboro, North Carolina, and lived in the Piedmont Triad until I finished graduate school. My whole family still lives there.

#VaSpirits: Give us a glimpse of your daily routine!

Melissa: Actually, my husband I just bought a house, so we’re in the process of switching up our daily routine from D.C.’s Petworth neighborhood to Riggs Park. Since we’re both industry folk, nightcaps usually happen at our house.

#VaSpirits: When you’re not behind the bar at Rappahannock Oyster Bar, what do you enjoy doing?

Melissa: We LOVE the Nats, and, really, all D.C. sports teams. We also both love golf. Our pug, Lou, has total control of our house, which we invited and can’t change now. He’s already taken over the yard at our new house.

#VaSpirits: When you’re not drinking #VaSpirits, what do you enjoy drinking and why?

Melissa: Whiskey. From anywhere. Full stop.

Melissa: What did the fish say when it hit the wall?
