Night Hike, featuring James River Distillery

This is a perfect after dinner cocktail or could easily be subbed in for dessert itself!

INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 oz Commonwealth Gin
1 oz white creme de cacao
3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
1/4 oz 1:1 simple syrup
2-3 dashes of mint bitters 

PREPARATION
Shake all ingredients, strain over ice into a rocks glass. Garnish with a lemon wheel and mint sprig.

Southern Squeeze, featuring Cirrus

A spin on a vodka or “spiked” lemonade but with a hint of watermelon to balance acidity and lemon/lime soda to provide slight effervescence. A perfect cocktail to enjoy in the shade of a covered patio on a hot summer afternoon.

INGREDIENTS
1.5 oz Cirrus Vodka
1 oz Watermelon Simple Syrup
Freshly squeezed juice from half of a lemon
Lemon/Lime Soda (to top off)

PREPARATION
Build all ingredients (except lemon/lime soda) into a mixing glass with ice and gently stir. Strain into a chilled rocks glass filled with ice and top off with lemon/lime soda. Give one final gentle stir. Garnish with a wheel or wedge of lemon.

Daiquiri, featuring Vitae Spirits

The classic daiquiri is one of the best ways to introduce and showcase a white rum.

INGREDIENTS
2 oz Vitae Spirits platinum rum
3/4 oz fresh lime
1/2 oz 2:1 simple syrup

2:1 simple syrup/over medium heat combine 2 cups of white sugar with 1 cup of water and stir until dissolved

    PREPARATION
    Combine all and shake with ice. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

    Martini, featuring James River Distillery

    Classic martini showcasing the gin base spirit. Enjoy after a long day, right before dinner.

    INGREDIENTS
    2 oz James River Distillery Continental gin
    1 oz Dolin dry vermouth
    1 dash orange bitters
    lemon twist

    PREPARATION
    Combine all except lemon with ice. Stir until well chilled and diluted. Strain into a cold cocktail glass and garnish with a lemon twist.

    Blackberry Sage Fizz, featuring Catoctin Creek

    This is my Bramble.

    INGREDIENTS
    1.5oz Watershed Gin
    1/2 oz Averna Amaro 1oz Blackberry Sage Syrup
    3/4 oz Lemon
    4-6 dashes El Guapo’s Polynesian Kiss Bitters
    Float of sparkling wine (I use Cava)

    PREPARATION
    Add all the ingredients except the sparkling wine to a shaker add ice and shake vigorously. Strain over fresh ice into a highball. It should leave about 5mm of room to add the float of cava. Garnish with a twist of lemon after generously expressing the oils.
