A Peach Cobbler predates common usage of “cocktail” and was a common way to cut the strength of strong spirits with the sweetness of fresh fruit. We’ve made it a little more seasonal by preserving peaches in some fall spices, adding grated ginger. It’s a murky drink with the fruit muddled in, and delicious.
2 oz. George Washington’s Straight Rye Whiskey
1 oz. fresh lemon juice
1 tsp. freshly grated, peeled ginger
3/4 oz. simple syrup (1:1)
2 slices fresh peaches or spiced, brandied peaches (in the fall)
