Sidecar, featuring George Washington’s Distillery at Mount Vernon

Using Virginia brandy and autumn flavors, we put our local take on a classic Sidecar.

INGREDIENTS
2.5 oz Apple Brandy, from George Washington’s Distillery at Mount Vernon
1 oz mulling spice infused maple syrup
.5 oz fresh lemon juice
1 oz fresh orange juice

PREPARATION
Fill a metal cocktail shaker with ice. Add all ingredients. Stir until the shaker gets frosty. Strain into a martini glass and garnish with an amarena cherry.

Flowering Vir Gin, featuring Copper Fox Distillery

This drink is full of innuendo, and perfect for a night out with friends. The herbal notes of Copper Fox Distillery’s Vir Gin play well with the floral notes of rose and chamomile; the whole affair is accented with orange, smoothed by vanilla, and a cherry to pop at the end.

INGREDIENTS
Vanilla Sugar
Morello Cherry
1.5 oz Rose-Chamomile Simple Syrup
1.5 oz Copper Fox Distillery’s Vir Gin
2 dashes Orange Bitters
Ice Cubes
Small Orange Peel

PREPARATION
Prepare a martini glass by moistening the rim with the cut end of an orange and dipping the rim in Vanilla Sugar, drop the Morello Cherry in the glass. Combine the Rose-Chamomile Syrup, Copper Fox Vir Gin, Orange Bitters, and Ice; stir for 20-25 seconds. Strain, neatly, into prepared glass. Squeeze the Orange Peel to spray oils onto the surface of the drink, drop peel into the drink.

Continental Dash, featuring James River Distillery

This cocktail was inspired by the classic smashes and juleps. The deep muddling of basil gives it a refreshing and herbaceous flavor that is sure to satisfy on a warm spring or summer day.

INGREDIENTS
Chilled Coupe Glass
5-8 basil leaves
1 1/2 oz Continental Gin from James River Distillery
1/2 oz rich simple syrup
3/4 oz fresh lime juice
1/4 oz Green Chartreuse

PREPARATION
In small part of shaking tin, add the basil and RSS and muddle. Next add the rest of the ingredients. Shake vigorously with ice for 10-12 seconds. Double strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with a mint leaf. Be sure to smack the mint to release the essence.

Stone Cold Fox, featuring Copper Fox Distillery

This drink, along with many items on our menus, brings with it a bit of sarcasm with a pun. The name alludes to the stone fruits, the mint, and of course, Copper Fox.

INGREDIENTS
Strip of Orange Peel
Morello Cherry
Ice
Juice of 1/2 blood orange
1.5 oz Copper Fox Rye
3/4 oz Heering Cherry Liqueur
1/2 oz Simple Syrup
1/2 tsp Morello Cherry soaking brandy/Kirsch

PREPARATION
Prepare garnish by skewering one and of the orange peel, then the cherry, and finally the other end of the orange peel, ensuring the orange side is out; place in a martini glass. Shake together the ice, blood orange juice, Copper Fox Rye Whisky, Heering Cherry Liqueur, simple syrup, and soaking brandy; pour through fine strainer into prepared glass.

The Highlander, featuring Virginia Distillery Company

The Highlander is an extension of the Manhattan concept, but with a more complex flavor profile. Subtle notes of honey and citrus make this a smooth sipper.

INGREDIENTS
1 oz. Virginia Highland Whisky, by Virginia Distillery Company
1 oz. Calvados
0.5 oz. Lillet Blanc
0.5 oz. Sweet Vermouth
0.25 oz. Averna
0.25 oz. Cardamaro
2 Dashes of Orange Bitters

Side Show, featuring James River Distillery

Using a lavender infused blueberry puree and the botanical essences of Commonwealth Gin, we created a delicious summer sipper.

INGREDIENTS
2 oz Commonwealth Gin, from James River Distillery
2 oz Lavender infused Blueberry puree
.5 oz fresh squeezed lemon juice

PREPARATION
Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously and strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with lavender sprig and lemon twist.

Provence, featuring Vitae Spirits

A trip to France in a glass! Our Orange Liqueur and Modern Gin pair with a blueberry shrub and a local wildflower honey simple. Topped with a twist of lime to add a little zip of citrus. This refreshing cocktail is perfect for a hot day!

INGREDIENTS
1 oz. Vitae Spirits Orange Liqueur
.5 oz. Vitae Spirits Modern Gin
.5 oz. Wildflower Honey Simple
3/4 oz Blueberry Lavender Shru

PREPARATION: 
Blueberry Lavender Shrub – Mix 16 oz of blueberries with 1 cup of sugar, mashing berries lightly and let sit for 48 hours. Place 2 tablespoons of dried lavender buds in 1 cup of apple cider vinegar and let sit for 48 hours. Strain lavender from vinegar, as well as the berries from the syrup. Mix syrup and vinegar together. Keep stored in fridge.

Wildflower Honey Syrup – Bring to a boil 2 cups of water and 1 cup of honey. Turn of heat and let simmer till cooled.

Gin Rickey, featuring KO Distilling

INGREDIENTS
1 lime, halved
1 oz Battle Standard 142 Navy Strength Gin
Sparkling water
Optional – dash of simple syrup

PREPARATION
Squeeze the two lime halves into a glass, and then add the rind. Add ice, pour gin over the mix, and top with sparkling water.  Garnish with a lime wheel.

Pamplemousse Rose, featuring Vitae Spirits

A rare Orange only Cocktail, this summery cocktail is light and refreshing with fresh grapefruit juice and a splash of rosewater simple for a gentle floral finish. Perfectly refreshing for a hot day.

INGREDIENTS
1.5 oz. Vitae Spirits Orange Liqueur
1.5 oz. fresh grapefruit juice
1 oz. rose simple syrup (1 part sugar 2 parts water 1/8 parts rose water)

PREPARATION
1. Combine all ingredients in a shaker
2. Add 1 cup medium ice
3. Shake vigorously
4. Pour in a cocktail glass.
5. Garnish with rose pedal.
